Mary E. Coley, 81, of 2400 Tutherell St. died Oct. 23, 1996, in Maryview Medical Center.
A native of Norfolk County, Ms. Coley was a member of Union Bethel Church of God in Christ and was faithfully active in church until her illness prevailed.
Survivors include her daughters, Dorothy Bullock of Portsmouth, Mary Hurdle of Atlanta and Bertha Frank of Portsmouth; sons, Percy Coley Jr. of Portsmouth, Melvin Coley of Silver Spring, Md., William Coley of Portsmouth and Marvin Coley of Kentucky; brothers, Elijah Porter of Portsmouth and Vernon Porter of Portsmouth; 18 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, Portsmouth, by Brother Garland Taylor. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery, Portsmouth.
