TOUGH QUESTIONS FOR DOLE, CLINTON

I know I am not the only one who came away from the debates totally dissatisfied. Where did they get the audience for the San Diego town meeting? Alien seed pods? The whole spectacle was as carefully choreographed as the Miss America Pageant, but not as interesting. Where were the hard questions?

Mr. Dole: At age 73 and after more than 40 years in Washington, your political instincts surely must have screamed a warning that a large number of voters would see you as a poster boy for term limits whose time was long past. Why then did you use your seniority to seize your party's nomination, virtually assuring the re-election of the shallow, scandal-plagued Mr. Clinton?

Mr. Clinton: Most Americans are pro-choice to a certain degree, but why did you veto the bill that would have made it illegal to scoop out the brains of full-term infants to ensure they are dead on arrival? If Congress sent you a bill advocating this method of execution for convicted criminals, would you sign it?
