Robert Malthus Barefoot Jr., 81, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 1996, in a local hospital.
Born in Black Creek, N.C., he was a graduate of Wake Forest College in 1939. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 33 years of service. Mr. Barefoot was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II. He was a 50-year member of Central Baptist Church, the Pioneer Kiwanis Club and the Kennedy Home Alumni Association.
He is survived by several nephews, cousins and a host of loving friends.
Mr. Barefoot will be sent to the Cox-Parker Funeral Home in Winter Park, Fla., for burial. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct.29, in Central Baptist Church by the Rev. V. David Sedaca. Memorial contributions may be made to his church. Cox Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
