Jonathan B. Howes, secretary of the state Department of Environment, Health and Natural Resources, has appointed three people to the Advisory Committee for the North Carolina Aquarium.

Gwen Cruickshanks, a Point Harbor resident, is vice president of GWC & Associates, a consulting firm, and president of the Virginia/Dare County Business & Professional Women's Club. Hilda Bayliss, of Manns Harbor, is a former education curator at the Roanoke Island Aquarium.
