Esther Irene Ansell Martin, 75, of the 2400 block of Grandy Ave., died Oct. 27, 1996.
Born on Knotts Island, N.C., she was the widow of Morgan C. Martin, her husband of 54 years. She was a faithful wife, loving mother and homemaker. Mrs. Martin was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Norfolk, and was past president of Ballentine PTA, Willard PTA, and active in the Ballentine Civic League for 20 years.
Survivors include three sons, Gary Robert Martin of Santa Clara, Calif., Wayne Elliot Martin of Palo Alto, Calif., and Glenn Carle Martin of Cherokee, N.C.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Knotts Island Methodist Church, Knotts Island, by the Rev. George Ansell. Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
