Archie Lloyd Toliver, 76, of the 2600 block of Beachmont Ave., died Oct. 25, 1996, in a local hospital.
Born in Princess Anne, Va., he was the widower of the late Annie Mae Toliver. He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and retired after 38 years. He also was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Basilica, Norfolk.
Survivors include a daughter, Gloria A. Smith of Norfolk; grandchildren, Heather D. Smith of Louisville, Ky., Letticia A. Smith of Lexington, Ky.; friends, Dorothy Crocket, Thelma Sykes, Vaney E. Toliver and Wanda Lynch. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thelma (Willie) and Vaney E. Toliver.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Thursday by Father Walter C. Barrett at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Basilica, 1000 Holt St., Norfolk. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The family and friends will assemble at 2615 Beachmont Ave. at 11 a.m. Thursday.
