Lewis Franklin Lawrence, 81, died Oct. 28, 1996, in Sentara Bayside Hospital.
A native of Arlington, Va., Mr. Lawrence was a retired civil service employee. He was the widower of Lottie L. Lawrence and a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Sunshine Club and a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his son, Lee and Teresa Anders of Virginia Beach; five sisters, Sarah Baxter of Locust Grove, Va., Agnes Bopp of Lusby, Md., Georgianna Pilot of Arlington, Roberta Jewell of Arlington and Mary Melberg of Florida; a brother, Robert Lawrence of Hyattsville, Md. He is also survived by loving nephews, Joe and Donnie Baxter of Virginia Beach and also numerous other loving nieces and nephews; four grandchildren, Chris and Robin Anders, Donis Anders, Christiana Anders, Louis and Michelle Anders and eight great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents.
A Christian wake service will be conducted at 7 p.m. today in Kellum Funeral Home, Bonney Road Chapel, by Fr. Tom Caroluzza. Burial will be in National Memorial Park, Falls Church, Va. The family will receive friends in the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
