Cynthia Way Jenkins, 55, of the 5500 block of Old Carrsville Road, died Oct. 29, 1996, in Southampton Memorial Hospital.
She was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and a member of the choir. Cynthia was a data entry supervisor for Union Camp Corp., where she had been employed for 30 years.
Survivors include her beloved husband, John H. Jenkins; a daughter, Mrs. Levon Carr Gyoker of Franklin; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Tammy Jenkins Cabell, and husband, Frank, of Virginia Beach; her mother, Mrs. Evelyn Way of Carrsville; a sister, Pamela W. Byrd and husband, Mike, of Carrsville; a grandson, Shane Gyoker; two step-grandchildren, Joyce and Tyler Cabell; two nephews, Mark Barrett and Andrew Byrd; and a niece, Samantha Byrd. She was predeceased by her father, Julius Mood Way, and a stepson, Vernon Scott Jenkins.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Beaver Dam Baptist Church by the Rev. Richard Peerey. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in Holland-Rideout Funeral Home and at other times in the home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Beaver Dam Baptist Church Building Fund, 3593 Carrsville Road, Franklin, Va. 23851.
