A headline in Friday's World News section should have said,
``Suspects held in bombing of U.S. military housing in Saudi
Arabia'' - not Iraq.
Also, a National News headline said, ``Reno questioned FBI
handling of Jewell's arrest.'' Richard Jewell, a former suspect in
the Atlanta Olympic park bombing, was never arrested.
Clarifications
A front-page headline Friday said the Christian Coalition backs
Sen. John Warner. Although the group's voter guide listed a number
of issues on which John Warner agrees with the group, the coalition
considers itself nonpartisan and says its guides are educational and
not endorsements. The federal government, in a suit against the
coalition, argues that its guides are partisan activity.
Michael Edward King, arrested in the Sunday murder of Philip Bell
in Portsmouth, was listed by police as living in the 800 block of
DeKalb Ave. in Portsmouth. Residents at the address said Friday,
however, that King does not live there. by CNB
