Patrick H. (Pat) Kelly Sr., 84, passed away Oct. 31, 1996, in Shenandoah Memorial Hospital, Woodstock.
Mr. Kelly was born on March 28, 1912, in Suffolk, son of the late Jacob Holladay and Mamie Brothers Kelly. He came to Woodstock as manager of Virginia Power in 1968 and retired in 1976. He was an Army veteran of World War II, past president of the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce, the Methodist Men and the Creeds Ruritan Club, former chairman of the Woodstock Planning Commission, member of the Woodstock American Legion Post (NU)199, First Baptist Church in Woodstock, and Masonic Lodge in Virginia Beach. He was a past president of the Woodstock Rotary Club and in 1994 he was made a Paul Harris Fellow, which is Rotary's highest service award.
Mr. Kelly is survived by his wife, Lynda Carroll Rawls Kelly, formerly of Franklin; a son, Patrick H. Kelly Jr. of Wake Forest, N.C.; a daughter, Lynda Luttrell of Charlottesville, Va.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two nephews and a niece.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk, by the Rev. Paige Bowman. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today in Dellinger Funeral Home, Woodstock, and Monday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. in Baker Funeral Home, Suffolk.
