The article by Bruce Frazer concerning handicapped parking (Another View, Oct. 22) makes a very good point. Some people park in a handicapped space, run into the supermarket and come out carrying a six-pack of beer. Or they think they're so special that they even park in the fire lanes of shopping centers to do the family laundry.
I've seen some parked in handicapped spaces 30 to 40 minutes to run errands in different stores with not a disabled person with them. But who is enforcing these regulations? I have not seen a policeman or security guard ticketing or passing out warning fliers. If we are not going to enforce these regulations, we will never rid the shopping centers of these violators.
