George Thomas Madden, 63, beloved husband, father and grandfather, died Oct. 31, 1996, in a Chesapeake hospital.
Born in the Bronx, N.Y., he was an engineer for New York Telephone Co. and retired after 26 years of service.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Marilyn G. Madden; two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen Susan and James Martin Popp of Chesapeake, Wendy Marie and Michael Edward Caldwell of California; a brother, John Edward Madden Jr. of New York; two grandchildren, Victoria Marie Caldwell, Christopher James Popp; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gladys and Danny Lamorte of New York; two nephews, Donald and Dane Lamorte; a niece, Allison Lamorte; and three grand-nieces, Rachel, Rebecca and Sarah.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, by Dr. James G. Cobb. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
