Virginia Etter Tate, 86, of Brighton Gardens, died Nov. 10, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.
A native of Dermott, Ark., Mrs. Tate was the widow of Harry F. Tate and a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Onancock. She was also a member of Colonial Dames of the 17th Century.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Lee Tate Roberts and her husband, L.P. Roberts, of Rome, Ga.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Loretta H. Tate of Virginia Beach. She was predeceased by her son, Dr. Randolph Tate.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in Eastern Shore Chapel Episcopal Church by the Rev. Andrew MacBeth. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, is in charge. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
