Your Dec. 28 letter ``Carriers aren't alone out there'' was right on the money. Whenever you see the news, one would think the only ship in the U.S. Navy inventory is an aircraft carrier. I bet you don't know that when a battle group deploys, the ARG amphibs leave early to go to Morehead City, N.C., to pick up Marines and, upon return, get home a day late because they drop off the Marines in North Carolina.
