Irene H. Baker, 82, of Sewells Point Road died Jan. 1, 1997, in Sentara Nursing Center.
A retired hairdresser/beautician for the Leading Lady Beauty Salon, she was a Williamston, N.C., native and the widow of Claude E. Baker. She was a member of The Retired Hairdressers.
Survivors include her two daughters, Janie Fogle of Norfolk and Dorothy Dalseg of Plano, Texas; son, William E. Baker of Virginia Beach; two brothers, Wheeler Martin Harris of Edenton, N.C., and John B. Harris of Virginia Beach; and five grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters and two brothers.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. George Baker. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
