Earl Cecil Corbett, 94, of the 1200 block of N.C. 45 North died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 1997, in Roanoke-Chowan Hospital.
He was a native of Bertie County, a member of Riverside Baptist Church and a retired merchant.
Survivors include his daughter, Elizabeth C. Jones of Colerain; son, William T. Corbett of Currituck; sisters, Glen C. Lewis of Harrellsville, N.C., Elsie C. Foster of Portsmouth and Doris C. Mitchell of Brownsville, Texas; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in Riverside Baptist Church by the Rev. Dennis Conner and the Rev. Donald Clinton. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends at the residence. Memorial gifts may be made to the Roanoke Chowan Hospice, P.O. Box 272, Ahoskie, N.C. 27910 or to your favorite charity. Walker Funeral Home, Windsor, is in charge.
