I am not as concerned as to what percentage of my tax dollar will go toward replenishing the beach, or that the money we get from the Sandbridge community is more than we will have to allot to refurbish the beach, as I am concerned that my grandchildren will not have the same opportunity as I have had growing up in Virginia Beach.
To be able to take long walks on the beach, watch the sunset kiss the horizon in its final glory, hear the seagulls as they soar above, feel the salty sea air and, most of all, to look out at the ocean and dream their dreams is part of the heritage of growing up in Hampton Roads.
Let's not deprive future generations of the same wonderful opportunity to commune with nature that we have had.
