Bendoyle (Sleepy) Odom, 62, of Second Southgate Ave., died Jan. 2, 1997, in Sentara Bayside Hospital.
Born in Emporia, Va., he was a retired self-employed auto detailer with 40 years service. Mr. Odom was Baptist. He was owner and operator of Auto Laundry.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Smith Odom; three daughters, Marlinda Champagne, Rosa Odom Turner, Tracy Odom; three sons, Bernard Odom, Barry Odom, Christopher Odom, all of Virginia Beach; stepmother, Evelyn Odom; five sisters; eight brothers; seven grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends; and a special friend, Henry L. Blount.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Stephen Church of God in Christ, Virginia Beach, by Bishop Ted Thomas. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. Graves Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
