Lynn Patrick Kiernan, 45, of the 7300 block of Hampton Blvd., a checker at the Norfolk International Terminals Inc., died Jan. 7, 1997, in his home after a long illness with diabetes.
Mr. Kiernan was a native of Norfolk. He attended Central Baptist Church in Norfolk as a child and was a member of the International Longshoremans Association, Local No. 1840. He was an avid golfer with his brother and enjoyed traveling with his mother and friends.
Survivors include a sister, Kathleen K. Anderson and her husband, Robert T. Anderson Jr., of Norfolk; a brother, Robert E. Kiernan and his wife, Pamela H. Kiernan, of Norfolk; three nephews, Robert E. Kiernan, Michael R. Kiernan, and Timothy T. Anderson; two nieces, Christa K. Anderson and Michele E. Kiernan, all of Norfolk, and many special friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, 1997, in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, by the Rev. V. David Sedaca. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday.
