BENJAMIN CAPRIO SR.

Benjamin ``Butsey'' Caprio Sr., 76, of the 4200 block of Dayle Acres Drive died Jan. 7, 1997, in a Portsmouth hospital.

A native of Portsmouth, he was an industrial management specialist for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, a charter member of Believers Baptist Church and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and Korea.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn H. Caprio; two sons, Benjamin Caprio Jr. and his wife, Michelle, of Portsmouth, Rodney Caprio and his wife, Nancy, of Chesapeake; two sisters, Lucille Ricketts of Portsmouth, Jenny Humphries of Mississippi; three brothers, Buddy Caprio of Richmond, Dallas Caprio of Arizona, Henry Caprio of Florida; and three grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Scott Ranck and the Rev. Benjamin Caprio. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home and other times at 4608 Watson Way, Chesapeake. Memorial donations may be made to the Bennetts Creek Squad.
