Thomas J. Tennefoss Jr. died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 1997, of complications of Mastocytosis at home surrounded by his family. He was 73.
He was born in Fentress, Va., to Thomas J. and Mable Keim Tennefoss on June 8, 1923. He was a member of Tressler Mennonite Church, Greenwood.
He was preceded in death in 1954 by his first wife, Sarah Troyer Tennefoss and an infant daughter, Mildred Dorothy.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Cora Schrock Tennefoss; six sons; three daughters; seven foster children; 29 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, James R. of Amelia, Va.; three sisters, Ruth Burgess of Norfolk, Dolly Schlabach of Greenwood and Pauline Miller of Chesapeake.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Tressler Mennonite Church, Route 16, Greenwood. Viewing will be two hours prior to the service. Fleischauer Funeral Home, Greenwood, is in charge.
