CASES AGAINST TEENS DOWNGRADED IN DEATH OF MAN AT REST STOP

Capital murder charges against two teen-agers accused of robbing and killing a motorist at a rest stop on Interstate 95 were downgraded Thursday.

Circuit Judge Lon E. Farris amended the charges against Michael T. Baggett Jr., 19, and Khalif A. Rodriquez, 19, to murder. They still face charges of robbery, use of a firearm in a robbery, and use of a firearm in a murder.

The third suspect, Andre V. Carter, 18, still faces a capital murder charge. Prosecutors have said they plan to seek the death penalty against Carter, who was 17 at the time of the murder of Bobby Lee Durham Sr., 51, of Dover, Pa.
