GLADYS V. WARD

Gladys Virginia Ward, 90, of the 3400 block of Robinson Road, died Jan. 11, 1997.

Mrs. Ward was born in Princess Anne County and was the widow of John R. Ward. She was a member of Charity United Methodist Church.

Survivors include five daughters, Jane Culpepper and Barbara Holmes, both of Virginia Beach, Alice Wilson and Ida Grose, both of Chesapeake, and Irene Hlywa of Richmond; three sons, Robert Ward, Walter Ward and Ernest Ward, all of Virginia Beach; 22 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and 13 stepgrandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Vernon Ward and John Ward.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Charity United Methodist Church by the Rev. Talmadge T. Markham. Burial will be in the Capps and Ward Family Cemetery. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday to receive friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 2730 Ellsmere Ave., Norfolk, Va. 23513.
