Edna Hill, 72, passed away Saturday, Jan. 11, 1997, surrounded by her family.
Born in Hampton, she was the daughter of the late George and Bertie Stutt. She lived in Hampton 35 years and in Chesapeake 27 years.
Mrs. Hill is survived by her husband of 55 years, Charles Elwyn Hill; daughters, Carolyn Pinkney and husband Billy of Phenix City, Ala., and Brenda Gabriele and husband Mark of Chesapeake; sons, Wayne Hill and wife Becky of Hampton, Dennis Hill and wife Diane of Ridge, Md., and Jesse L. Hill and friend Michelle of Chesapeake; sisters, Virginia Pratt of Westerly, R.I., and Agnes Hogge of Melbourne, Fla.; six grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, Hampton, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will follow in Hampton-Veterans Memorial Gardens, Hampton. The family requests any contributions be made to your favorite charity.
