Robert B. Banks, 64, of the 8000 block of Tarpon Place, died Jan. 11, 1997, in DePaul Hospital.
He was retired from the Navy, EMCM E-9, and was a Mason and member of Fleet Reserve and VFW.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie M. Banks; three sons, James Banks, Richard Banks and Michael Banks, all of California; three brothers, Harry Banks and wife Yvonne, William Banks, Terry Banks and wife Beverly, all of Michigan; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Other survivors include five stepsons, Howard Midgette of California, John R. Midgette Jr. of Colorado, Stephen Midgette and wife, Laurie, of Pennsylvania, Gary Midgette and wife, Kathy, of Colorado and Robin Midgette and wife, Jeanie, of Hatteras Island, N.C.; a stepdaughter, Jenifer Novak of Texas; and 10 step-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in United Methodist Church, Hatteras, N.C. Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to United Methodist Church of Hatteras and Assembly of God Church of Hatteras.
