Claude Allen McGlothlin Jr., 46, died Friday, Jan. 10, 1997.
A native of Portsmouth, he was a Baptist and a member of Effingham Plaza Bible Class. He had served on the Mayor's Committee for the Handicapped. He was the son of the late Claude Allen McGlothlin Sr.
Survivors include his mother, Betty Harrell Whitehead and stepfather, Newell Whitehead of Portsmouth; a sister, Kathy Gordon and husband, Harmon, of Virginia Beach; three nieces and three nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Philip Mason McGlothlin and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Thomas Harrell.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Tom Potter. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
