VICTIM IDENTIFIED

A woman whose body was found Saturday evening in her Huntersville home was murdered, police said Sunday.

Emma Finney-Carter, 57, who lived alone in the 700 block of Johnson Ave., was found dead after relatives became concerned for her.

Police said relatives called the woman's landlord and he, in turn, contacted police. She was found in her bedroom about 8 p.m.

It was unclear how long she had been dead.

Some neighbors said they had last seen her Wednesday.

Investigators were back in the neighborhood Sunday interviewing neighbors for a second time.

The cause of death has not been determined.

The body was sent to the State Medical Examiner's office for examination today.
