MELISSA D. WILLIAMS

Melissa D. ``Pate'' Williams, of the 3600 block of Dam Neck Road, died Jan. 9, 1997.

Born in Princess Anne County, she was the widow of George W. Williams. She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, participating on the usher board, Missionary Society and the Women's Club.

Survivors include four daughters, Inez Larry, Doris Broussard, both of Virginia Beach, Adren Moody of Chesapeake, Evelyn Larkin of Lawrence, Mass.; two sons, Alvin E. Williams of Virginia Beach, James E. Williams of Albuquerque, N.M.; four sisters, M. Lucille Caffee, Aggie McPherson, Vilethia Stieff, Elsie Etheridge, all of Virginia Beach; 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; four sons-in-law, Jonas Larry, Cleveland Broussard, Theodore Larkin, Boyd Moody; three daughters-in-law, Rebecca Williams, Shirley Williams, Faye Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Piney Grove Baptist Church, Holland Road, Virginia Beach, by the Rev. Charles A. Vinson. Burial will be in Colonial Grove Memorial Park. The remains will be in church at noon to the funeral time. Community Funeral Home, Virginia Beach, is handling arrangements.
