JAMES A. POOL

James ``Jimmy'' Allen Pool died the morning of Sunday, Jan. 12, 1997, in Portsmouth Naval Hospital. He was 51.

A retired naval lieutenant commander, he was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He graduated from Old Dominion University and received his MBA from Golden Gate University. He was a member of the Masonic Order, Lynnhaven Lodge 220, and he served as a ranger at Lake Corpus Christi State Park, Texas.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Jeanne Pool; his daughter, Janine Pool of San Francisco; his son, Jeffrey Pool of Arlington; his father and stepmother, Herman and Susan Pool of Hopkinsville, Ky.; his sister, Patricia Ferris of Millington, Tenn.; and his brother, Pastor Randall Pool.

A memorial service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2730 Ellsmere Ave., Norfolk, Va. 23513.
