HATTIE POWELL

Hattie Q. Powell, 75, of the 2300 block of Azalea Ave., died Jan. 11, 1997, in Maryview Hospital, Portsmouth.

Born in Fairmont, N.C., she was the widow of Vernon D. Powell and a member, altar worker and on the mothers board of Garden of Prayer Worship Center, Norfolk.

Survivors include a son, Prentis Townsend of Portsmouth; three sisters; two grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Cheyenne Townsend of Portsmouth, and a host of relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Garden of Prayer Worship Center, Norfolk, by Bishop L.E. Willis Sr. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will be at noon today. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
