Walter F. ``Jack'' Parker, 82, died Jan. 14, 1997, in Virginia Beach.
He retired from Lum's Hardware, Norfolk, where he was president and co-owner from 1945 to 1973. He was a native of Gregory, N.C., and the widower of Mary Whitley Parker.
Survivors include son, W. James Parker and his wife, Lucille Parker of Virginia Beach; sister, Zelma Crockett of Virginia Beach; brother, Harvey S. Parker and his wife, Jinx, of Kill Devil Hills; and granddaughter, Adrian Elizabeth Parker of Virginia Beach.
A graveside funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Creeds, Va., by the Rev. Frank Jennings. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Knotts Island Fire Department and Rescue Squad. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is in charge.
