CRIME LINE

Local police are seeking public assistance in solving these cases:

VIRGINIA BEACH

On Dec. 21, at 9:38 a.m., two men walked into the Tidewater Telephone Employees Credit Union in the 5600 block of Southern Blvd.

One of the men had a pistol in each hand and raised both while the other man jumped over the counter and took money.

The robbers then ran from the building and were seen getting into a blue, late-model, four-door car.

The gunman is described as white, 6-foot-1 and 160 pounds. He wore a black wig, a fake mustache and beard, a long black-and-blue-checkered flannel coat with a hood, a black ski cap and sunglasses.

The other man is white, 5-foot-11 and 145 pounds, with a round face. He wore a black curly wig, a blue knit cap, a dark coat with a hood, blue jeans and sunglasses.

PORTSMOUTH

A man with a gun entered the Burger King in the 600 block of Airline Blvd. about 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 10 and immediately jumped over the counter.

The man forced the cashier to the rear of the restaurant and demanded money from the safe. After taking cash, the man fled out the rear door and was last seen getting into a dark blue pickup truck with tinted windows and a dark blue camper shell.

Someone else was driving the truck.

The gunman is described as black, 5-foot-8 and 125 pounds. He was wearing blue pants and a blue jacket with fur on the hood.

CHESAPEAKE

A man has been going into area convenience stores and taking cases containing 30 cartons of cigarettes.

He was photographed by a security camera during one such theft on Nov. 5 from the Miller Mart in the 900 block of George Washington Highway.

The suspect is described as black, 6 feet tall and 175 pounds, with a slim build, black hair and brown eyes. During the Miller Mart theft he wore a blue jacket, a blue striped shirt and cream-colored pants.

HAMPTON< On Dec. 12, about 6:19 p.m., two men with handguns entered Snow's Bicycle Shop in the 100 block of E. Mellen St. They forced the owner and his two children into the rear of the store and demanded money. After taking the victim's money, the suspects shot him in the back and ran from the store. Police said the man survived.

The first man is described as black, 6-foot-1 to 6-foot-2, thin build, wearing a blue handkerchief over his face. The second man is black and about 5-foot-10. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
