Virgil E. Taylor of the 4900 block of Erskine St. died Jan. 17, 1997.
A retired custodian, retired from Virginia Beach schools, Mr. Erskine was the widower of Amelia W. Taylor and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Virginia Beach. He was a member of the trustee board, male chorus and the usher board. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Washington No. 139 P.H.
Survivors include three daughters, Jacqueline Stevenson, Gloria Whitfield and Talmadge Jackson, all of Norfolk; son, Ronald Taylor of Norfolk; eight grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Thursday in Ebenezer Baptist Church by the Rev. C.K. Jones. Burial will be in Colonial Grove Memorial Park, Virginia Beach. Community Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is in charge. The family will be at 8007 Keene Road, Norfolk.
