EDNA P. CARNEY

Edna Prince Carney, 84, died at home on Jan. 20, 1997.

Mrs. Carney is survived by her children, Jane Pillow, Ann Carroll, Joseph W. Carney Jr. and Ellen Manson; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; her sister, Mary Lee Zehmer; and many beloved family members and friends.

For many years, Mrs. Carney participated in medical auxiliary, PTA and church activities. She retired in 1977 after 16 years as secretary to the president of Christopher Newport College.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, 1997, at Baker-Foster Funeral Home, Bennett's Creek Chapel, Suffolk. Memorial donations may be made to the Maryview Wellspring Hospice, 3636 High St., Portsmouth, Va. 23704.
