Weston Williams Pugh, 93, of the 700 block of Head of River Road, died Jan. 19, 1997, in Chesapeake General Hospital.
He was born in Old Trap, Camden County, N.C., on Sept. 11, 1903. The son of the late Charlie and Ella Williams Pugh, Mr. Pugh brought his family to Old Norfolk County some 48 years ago, settled in the Hickory section and began a lifelong farming business. He was a member of Faith Wesleyan Church and former member of Hickory Ruritan Club.
He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Lydia Harrison Pugh of the residence; two sons, W. Lyle Pugh Sr. of Chesapeake and Dr. Garland C. Pugh DVM, of Virginia Beach; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Twiford Funeral Home, Great Bridge, Chesapeake, by Dr. W. Emmett M. Diggs. Burial will follow in Riverside Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in the funeral home and from noon to 8 p.m. in the residence. Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of Faith Wesleyan Church, 1099 Kempsville Road, Norfolk, Va. 23502.
