Glethel ``Glenn'' Horton, 66, of the 800 block of Bouie Court, died Jan. 17, 1997, in Provident Hospital of Cook County, Chicago.
Born in Clinton, Ala. he was a food service salesman with 30 years service. He was member and past master of Lebanon Lodge No. 34, F&AM, Order of Masons.
Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Bessie; five daughters, Wendy Hunter of Chesapeake, Denise Horton, L. Renay Horton, Angelia Horton, all of Chicago, Phyllis Horton of Portsmouth; three sons, Glenn Horton of Hampton, Michael Horton of Cheverly, Md., Kevin Horton of Fort Campbell, Ky.; four sisters, Olivia Johnson of Detroit, Inez Horton, Ernestine Horton, Gwendolyn Jones, all of Chicago; a brother, Fred D. Horton of Mount Morris, Mich.; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; four daughters-in-law, Cynthia Horton, Clenette Horton, Latashia Horton and Tonya Horton; a son-in-law, Charles J. Hunter; a special young friend, Jerry Watson of Portsmouth; and a host of other relatives and devoted friends.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Fellowship United Church of Christ, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Winston E. Waugh. Burial with Masonic Rites will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth, will begin at noon today. The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Saturday.
