A Virginia man was killed Friday when his jeep skidded off an icy road and struck a tree in Pendleton County, state police said.
The jeep driven by Mark David Lamm, 39, of Portsmouth, Va., skidded on U.S. 33 near Seneca Rocks. Lamm was killed when the driver's side of the jeep hit the tree.
Lamm's wife, Lisa, 35, and two sons, Christopher, 14, and Brian, 13, all were trapped in the vehicle and needed firefighters to get them out.
Lisa Lamm suffered serious injuries and was transferred to University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, Va.
Brian and Christopher Lamm were treated at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg for minor injuries and released, police said.
