Helen Pugh Bryant, 87, formerly of E. Tyler Crescent, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 1997.
She was a native of Portsmouth and was retired from the city of Portsmouth as secretary for the High Constable's Office. She was the widow of H.E. Buck Bryant and a member of West Side Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Jane McCrickard, and husband David of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; two grandchildren, Michael McCrickard of Chesapeake and Sharon McCrickard of Jacksonville, Fla.; and three great-grandchildren, Brian, Shelley and Michael. She was predeceased by her parents, Vernon W. and Bertha Hastings Pugh.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. Kenneth Bryant. The family will be at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. Contributions may be made to West Side Christian Church Building Fund.
