Gladys Frances Hobbs, 82, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 1997, in a local hospital.
A native of Statesville, N.C., she was the widow of Fred M. Hobbs and a member of Biltmore Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Shelby Hobbs Holland and husband Howard, Gladys Faye Logan and husband Dave, and Audrey Hobbs Jones, all of Portsmouth; a son, Kermit Monroe Hobbs of Suffolk; a sister, Mary Wilkinson of Statesville, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of loving family and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel, by the Rev. T.M. Frye. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Biltmore Baptist Church.
