Ozella Early Hudgins, 89, died in Williamsburg on Jan. 26, 1997.
She was born in Norfolk County and lived in South Boston, Va.; Lawrenceville, Va.; Staunton, Va.; Durham, N.C.; and Indianapolis, Ind., in addition to making her home in Virginia Beach for the last 40 years. She was the widow of Gaston C. Hudgins, Colonial Stores Inc. She was a member of Bayside Presbyterian Church, Suburban Women's Club and Hermitage Garden Club. While raising her daughters, she was active as a Sunday School teacher, PTA officer and Junior King's Daughters leader.
Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Brinn and her husband, Frank, of Williamsburg, Sybil Borns and her husband, Lawrence, of Daytona Beach, Fla.; a sister, Syble Poole of Chesapeake; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Irene Lipscomb and a brother, Rudolph Early.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, by Dr. Richard Keever. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bayside Presbyterian Church, 1400 Ewell Road, Virginia Beach, Va. 23455, or to one's favorite charity.
