Josephine Virginia Jefferson, 81, of the 600 block of Kingsborough Square, died Jan. 27, 1997.
Born in Princess Anne County, Va., she was the widow of Nolen E. Jefferson.
Survivors include two daughters, Elsie Kappes and Annie Ives, both of Chesapeake; a son, Nolen E. Jefferson of Knotts Island, N.C.; 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Juanita Jefferson and Josephine Wells.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, by the Rev. Danny L. Paul. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, and at 925 Michael Drive, Chesapeake, at all other times.
