Lossie Bell Walke, of the 400 block of Fenchurch St., died Jan. 25, 1997, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Born in Bertie, N.C., she was the widow of Floyd Walke and a retired bus driver for Norfolk city schools. She was a member of True Vine Holiness Church, past member of St. Paul C.M.E., member of the Eastern Star, Gospel Travelers, Williams Gospel Singers and the Happy Gospel Singers.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Shirley White of Norfolk, Lossie Board of Norfolk; three sons, Mr. George L. Cooper of Portsmouth, Floyd Walke Jr. of Norfolk, James Walke of Chesapeake; a sister, Mary Gertrude Jones of Bertie County, N.C.; two brothers, James T. Cooper of Boston, Mass., Eugene Cooper of Windsor, N.C.; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday in St. Paul C.O.G.I.C. by the Rev. Dr. Wilbert Daniels. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The remains will be ready for viewing at 3 p.m. today. The family will assemble at 1225 Tidewater Drive, Apt. 124. The remains will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
