I am grateful to Gene Waters, his wife Denise and all the volunteers who helped collect signatures for repeal of the Warrington Hall project. They collected more than 5,000 signatures, half of what is needed to force a referendum vote but enough to show Chesapeake City Council that the citizens are serious about overcrowded schools and roads and inadequate city services.
Hopefully, Chesapeake City Council will listen to the citizens whose daily life will be affected by major projects and not make up their minds before they come to chambers.
