Lavender M. Ansell, 62, of the 1700 block of Boxelder Arch, died Jan. 31, 1997, in Portsmouth General Hospital.
A native of England, she was a homemaker and a member of the Salvation Army in England.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond O. Ansell; three daughters, Mandy Louann Ansell of South Carolina, Tammy M. Madrid of Virginia Beach, Gloria J. Merryles of New Jersey; four sons, Peter R. Ansell, Raymond O. Ansell Jr., both of Virginia Beach, Billy Ray Ansell of New Jersey and Sebastian R. Ansell of South Carolina; and 13 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel.
