Police are seeking public assistance with these cases: PORTSMOUTH

The Formosa Chinese restaurant in the 2900 block of High St., O'Bailey's Cafe in the 3200 block of High St. and Lee's Garden restaurant in the 3500 block of Western Branch Blvd. were burglarized on Saturday, Jan. 25. Police need help identifying the suspects. VIRGINIA BEACH

On Jan. 10 at 3:50 p.m., a supposed good Samaritan attacked a woman.

At 3:50 p.m., the woman's truck broke down on Indian River Road near the Interstate 64 overpass. A man who stopped to help offered her a ride home.

After they arrived at her home in the 2000 block of Agecroft Road, the man forced his way into her home and tried to rape her. She fought back and the suspect fled.

The man had said his name was John. He is described as white, in his 30s, 5 feet 6 inches tall with a stocky build and blue eyes. He had short brown hair and a mustache. He was wearing a tan shirt and pants and a black waist-length jacket with two gold bars on each shoulder.

He was driving a 1980s model Mustang or Capri that had faded black paint and a gray interior. CHESAPEAKE

On Nov. 15 and again on Dec. 20, the Park Avenue Mini-Mart in the 1200 block of Park Ave. was robbed.

On both occasions, two men entered the business, displayed a small silver-plated automatic pistol and demanded money.

Police believe the same men are responsible for both robberies. HAMPTON

On Jan. 19, at 4:19 a.m., Zooms, a store in the 1400 block of W. Queen St., was robbed.

Two men wearing dark masks entered the store by backing a pickup truck through the front doors. They loaded the safe onto the truck and sped away.
