Ira Catlett Romines, 71, died Thursday, Feb. 6, 1997.
Mr. Romines was retired from Southampton Correctional Center.
He is survived by his wife, Betty L. Romines; daughter, Gladys Brittle of Ivor; sons, Olin G. Romines of Franklin and Ira C. Romines Jr. of Capron; three stepdaughters, Patricia Jones, Carol Sue King and Rhonda Wells, all of Emporia; two stepsons, Dale Wells of Jarratt and Jimmie Parrotte of Newport News; five grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today in Owen Funeral Home, Jarratt. Interment will be in Greensville Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Greensville Volunteer Rescue Squad.
