Mary Frances Morrisette Smith, 82, of the 400 block of Baldwin St., died Feb. 7, 1997, in a Virginia Beach hospital.
Frances, affectionately known as ``Puddin'' by many, had lived in Virginia Beach all her life, growing up in the Dam Neck, Little Neck and Lynnhaven areas. She worked at the Oceanfront for most of her life, with her favorite job as the receptionist for Mrs. Joy Talley.
She was the precious mother of Faye Dodson and Kaye Shutze; loving grandmother of Wayne and Keith Dodson and Tammy Coriell, Tommy, Eric and Ashley Shutze; dear great-grandmother of Tony Dodson, Keith and Eric Dodson; and beloved sister of Senora Riggs and Ruby Mae Evans. She was predeceased by her husband, Archie E. Smith. In addition ``Puddin'' was ``like a second mother'' and a dear friend to many and she will be missed by all.
A church service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at London Bridge Baptist Church by the Rev. Greg Brinson. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to London Bridge Baptist Church, 2460 Potters Road, Virginia Beach, Va. 23460. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, is handling arrangements.
