Phyllis Alston McCrickard, 80, died Feb. 9, 1997, in Virginia Beach General Hospital.
Mrs. McCrickard was a native of Richmond and had lived in Virginia Beach for 38 years. She was a charter member of Foundry United Methodist Church in Virginia Beach. She was active in the Chesopeian Colony Garden Club for over 35 years.
Mrs. McCrickard is survived by her husband of 56 years, H.A. ``Tip'' McCrickard; her son, Donald L. McCrickard, and his wife, Eleanor, of Greensboro, N.C.; grandsons, Donald Scott McCrickard of Atlanta and Keith Andrew McCrickard of Charlottesville, Va.; sister, Virginia Schad of Panama City, Fla.; brothers, Charles A. Alston of Richmond and John Lee Alston of Mechanicsville, Va.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Foundry United Methodist Church by the Rev. James Mahaffey. Inurnment will be at Christ United Methodist Church in Greensboro. The family will receive friends at the home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
