Mildred Coles Cotton, 82, of the 2900 block of Bayview Blvd. died Feb. 8, 1997, in a New Orleans hospital.
A Portsmouth native, she was the widow of John Clayton Cotton and a member of Port Norfolk Baptist Church. She was a receptionist and hairdresser for Loving Funeral Home.
Survivors include a son, Clayton Rawles Cotton of New Orleans; a daughter, Jean Jackmowski of Richmond; and four grandchildren, Sarah Rebecca Cotton, Jim Jackmowski, Patsy Jackmowski and Steve Jackmowski.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland, by Dr. Ector L. Hamrick. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
