Mildred Johnson Swain, 74, of the 4400 block of County St., died Feb. 8, 1997, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Swain was born in Portsmouth and was the owner of Swain Tile Co. She was a member of the Beazley Senior Citizens Center.
Survivors include the father of her children, Clarence E. Swain of Florida; two daughters, Jeriann Kahler and Jennell McEachern, both of Portsmouth; a son, Earnie Swain of Chesapeake; two sisters, Grace Whitford and Evelyn Fowlkes of Chesapeake; a brother, Tommy Johnson of Chesapeake; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Margie Johnson.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. E.E. Jones. Snellings Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel is handling arrangements.
